Bernard Baynes

Bernard was Nineteen when he started work at Percy’s. When employment was plentiful, applications were rejected, often without reason, but primarily because of his persistent stammering. Disappointed to be overlooked for conscription, the stammer that made education difficult and viewed as a disability placed serious issues regarding any future until a conversation between his mother and Sarah, Percy’s wife, sourced a solution that made Bernard (and his faithful dog, Jerry) an integral component in the organisation that was ‘Percy’s Pawnshop.
